Meet THE BEAVER
Glen Beaver was first introduced to golf when he was 5 years old. It was one of the many sports that he played in his youth. While he enjoyed playing team sports, Glen remained passionate about golf because it offered personal accomplishment and he could play it at any stage in his life. He says, "you don't have to be the best athlete to be an awesome golfer. You just need to believe in yourself and follow the rules."
Over the years, golf has been a way for Glen to bond with family, develop business relationships and create memories with friends. The more he played, the more he enjoyed the game. When life opened the door for him to become a Golf Teaching Professional he took it. Since then he has studied under some of Golf Magazine's Top 100 Teachers in America and he has taught at Medinah Country Club which is currently ranked #60 on Golf Digest's America's Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses.
In 2016, Coach Glen Beaver started teaching at Palm Beach County Golf Courses allowing him the opportunity to realize a the professional goal of making golf accessible to anyone who would like to learn and may not be able to afford a country club membership. While teaching at John Prince, Okeeheelee and Park Ridge Golf Courses, he was able to coach hundreds of junior and adult golfers of varying abilities, including students with special needs.
Additionally, he was the lead coach for many of the programs offered by the Junior Golf Foundation of America, Inc. on Saturdays at Okeeheelee Golf Course. Coach Glen was also requested to assist with golf camps enhancing the environment to be disciplined yet fun. It was this same methodology that he applied when he launched his homeschool golf program at Park Ridge in Fall 2018 and later expanded to Okeeheelee in Fall 2019.
During the 2020 pandemic, the county courses changed management and Coach Glen was relieved of his teaching role without notice. Shortly after he became affiliated with First Tee strengthening his already successful junior coaching curriculum. In June 2020, Coach Glen relocated his golf instruction and homeschool golf programs to the Golf Training Center at Commons Park in Royal Palm Beach. He was later recognized as the 2021 Coach of the Year by First Tee.
Also during that time, Coach Danni Rocco started assisting with junior golf classes. In 2022, she decided to join Beaver Golf in its vision of connecting people to the game of golf by unleashing their inner potential. Click here to learn more about Coach Danni.
Challenges create opportunities but Coach Glen's personalized approach to golf lessons remains the same. His end goal is to help his students improve the golf swing with a "keep it simple" methodology that results in hitting the ball straighter and farther with less force. Of course, he promises that you will have fun too! Based on the feedback from his students he is delivering on all of his promises.
